Marina Puesta del Sol Resort

With over six hundred acres of unspoiled, pristine land, the Marina Puesta del Sol development is not only a beautiful and unique destination, but a gateway to the undiscovered scenic treasures of Nicaragua. Our guests have the unique advantage of having access to the Pacific Ocean via a superb, private beach on one side of the peninsula, and the serene mangrove lined lagoon on the other. July 2004 marked the inauguration of our beautiful new hotel and main restaurant. We take special pride in providing unparalleled service and attention to each of our guests, and dedicate ourselves to making your stay comfortable and worry-free.

Club House

Marina Puesta del Sol’s large and spacious yacht club combines old-world charm with modern-day comfort and convenience. Through the distinctive stone reception arch and large, lead-glass mahogany doors, one enters the main foyer to the reception area and dining room. The large, air conditioned dining room affords a spectacular 180° view of the marina basin and estuary. For our visiting “yachties”, we have spacious showers, changing areas, laundry facilities as well as a comfortable lounge for social gathering and a book exchange.

Hotel

The first phase of hotel development includes two, three story buildings, for a total of 19 large suites. Building "Delfin" has eight executive suites on first and second floors with the entire third floor comprising the "Presidential Suite". This elegant suite includes two, full size bedroom suites with a large common area living room in which to entertain or relax. Step through the double French doors onto a large furnished terrace which runs the length of the living room. Building "Caballo de Mar" also boasts eight suites on first and second floors, but has two "Master Suites" on the third floor. Large double doors open from each bedroom to a comfortable adjoining living room. 

Each suite is lavishly appointed with imported marble and tile. A large Simmons "pillow-top" king size bed ensures a restful nights sleep, and each suit features a sofa/sleeper bed, refrigerator and cable TV. Open the French doors and step onto your private terrace for a spectacular view of the deep azure waters of Aserradores. Relax and unwind in one of our spacious hydro-massage whirlpools. All suites are air conditioned for comfort, and have all the amenities one would expect of a top-flight hotel.   

Swimming Pools

There’s nothing like a cool dip in one of our beautiful blue-tiled pools to shake off the doldrums and relax. Sip a cool drink poolside as you enjoy the majestic view of San Cristobal volcano on the lagoon side, or relax in our other "infinity" pool on the beach side as you take in a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. Try our hydro massage whirlpool, and let the water jets gently soothe and massage you. Beach towels are available to hotel guests.

Palapa Bar

One of the first things we did in building the marina was retrofit the existing fixed steel pier. We expanded the platform, built a “palapa” or palm frond and wood roof structure and added a full service bar with ample seating. The palapa on the water has proven to be a favorite relaxation area because of the gentle breezes and great view. We also provide full meal service “under the palapa” for great outdoor dining!     
 

Restaurant
 
From the beautiful, traditional colored floor tile to the unique wood ceiling design, our main dining room is a testament to elegance and grace. Located in the Yacht Club, the main restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner from a truly imaginative menu. Start with a speciality of the region, "Coctel La Perla", a delicious seafood cocktail of locally harvested black clams, or try the "Puesta del Sol", a tender sirloin steak with bearnaise sauce. For those who favor seafood, we offer the "Carino del Mar"; fresh sea bass stuffed with surimi. These are but a handful of the many choices available from our creative kitchen. For the little ones, we include a child's menu with all the favorites available.The main dining room in the yacht club will seat eighty and because of it's large and spacious size, can be converted into convention, seminar, or meeting area.
